Arts Festival is always a favorite. Last night we celebrated with lots of rolling down the hills.
Check out those pigtail propellers.
Papa's sculptures are always a favorite...
as are the mongo size desserts. They each chose cinnamon rolls.
Arts Festival brings out the best in my kids.

Breckenridge- 3 weeks ago
This is the last of my retrospective blogs...
We took the kids to Breckenridge for spring break to teach them to ski. Now when you are a Henderson kid your parents don't even consider enrolling you in ski school. They take you straight up the mountain. Unfortunately, spring break is crazy crowded in Breckenridge. This is a glimpse at what their first lift line looked like. That first lift line took us and hour an 15 minutes to get through. I think that is a record for me.
They both hated it. For starters we were completely overdressed for the weather. Emiline couldn't stand it and thought she was going to puke. Really. Tears were shed and we shoved them on the lift and headed up the dreaded mountain.
Thank goodness the tone changed. Thank goodness they could ski. Forget ski school. It's for wimps. By the end of the trip they were doing jumps in the terrain park. Seriously.
We couldn't leave without an impromptu snowball fight at Gigi & Leo's. Then we headed home with a fabulous stash of Fat Tire beer.

Rascal
We decided that the best way to celebrate new life at Easter was to "save" a life, so on Thursday afternoon last week we rescued a dog. I took this poster about periodontal disease in dogs as a sign that this was the dog for us, although I doubt this little dog will be going to Robin for a checkup anytime soon.
Here they are meeting Max. He is a five year old Lhasa Apso. We weren't even out of the parking lot before they had tossed out the name Max and renamed him Rascal. We'll see how it goes from here...

It's Easter Already!
I admit that I am way behind on the blog posts. Be warned... we may be doing a few retrospective postings after this one. I can't believe it's already Easter. I can back this up by stating that I was up way too late last night doing last minute preparations for a holiday that I didn't want to acknowledge was right around the corner. The kids, however, were totally prepared. Here are their baskets. Reid's note translates to "Reid. Bunny. Hide the eggs hard but not too hard. Happy Easter."Notice the skein of yarn they left by their baskets. It is because they want the bunny to hide their baskets and attach them to a trail of yarn that they have to follow. The bunny must have gotten the hint.
Notice that it is still dawn, but not the total darkness that we have hunted for eggs in the past.
They each found a special gold & silver egg. That gold egg was crazy hard to find. I think it would help if we cleaned out our flower beds.
Here was my most foolish move of all. I decided to be like Ma on Little House on the Prairie and sew Easter outfits for my children. At midnight Robin felt bad for me and put the clasp on Reid's shorts. I'm happy with how they look, I just hope crewcuts does coordinating brother sister outfits next year.
